My D was admitted to Occidental and Smith, both of which I believe are LAC's, while LMU is a university, and smaller. Any person who gets into Loyola Marymount University deserves a chance to attend because some how they got admitted into the school and hardwork should not go unnotices. If you’re interested in doing community work, and possibly teaching, come visit the school and learn about those aspects of the program. I personal love that it is nice and calm and it works for me but if you want the college expereice depicted in movies this isn't the school. We don't have a football team, our Greek life isn't as intense as other schools, our classes are small so we can't hide--we are held responsible for our actions, and we have more opportunities for service and giving back to the community than we can count. With regard to LMU and Occidental to a certain extent, but more so with regard to Smith, LMU is not as "prestigious" or highly ranked. A lot of the kids at this school are very "L.A."
