Manually stopping the service has been seen to cause the program to stop functing properly. In “Programs and Features” list there are three programs installed that are SupportAssist related: - a) ‘Dell SupportAssist’ b) ‘Dell SupportAssist Remediation’ c) ‘Dell Update - SupportAssist Update Plugin’ RE: Dell Support Assistant Remediation Service and Dell Update Service Errors I'm not having this issue, but for those who are, you might consider whether it is related to the (much less annoying) issue that many of us seem to be having with Dell update tool repeadedly installing (or reinstalling) SARemediation (reported as "SupportAssist OS Recovery Tools"). This just started on 1-27-18 so not sure what Dell did other than my warranty is out and I am getting lots of calls from salesmen trying to get me to renew it. In my taskmanager the Dell SupportAssist Remediation service is taking up 1,5gb of memory:I'm also experiencing the random high memory usage of Dell SupportAssist Remediation.I have the same issue with a XPS 8910. The download of this program, version 1.3, is in progress.

Initially the Commit, Working Set and Private Memory use are each at ~2GBs with Shareable at only 27MBs. what is going onAfter press win+R type in:"msconfig", click:hide Microsoft services, I found it.probably it is a service that seems ready to run when you turn on a Dell computer.I don't know what is it used for, but maybe the ban could be done to stop Dell SupportAssist Remediation.
So maybe Dell is doing this on purpose to get $$ from loyal customers by causing issues with their machines remotely.
I think the problem is caused by Recovery Assistant doesn't register the completion of system reset.
Another small business owner mentioned slowdowns and it seems to be the same program.
I uninstalled Dell Support Assist Remediation in the Control Panel, but it still shows up in the Task Manager.
The most common release is 1.1.0.47, with over 98% of all installations currently using this version. The flaw may affect over 100 million PCs that come pre-installed with diagnostic software from vendor PC-Doctor.
Re: Dell SupportAssist Remediation memory usage problem I have to disable to every time I turn the computer on because it uses up to 97% of my memory (with nothing else running), rendering my computer useless. Delaying the start of this service is possible through the service manager.
