In 2040, Noah, Claudia and Jonas (now all 17 years older), successfully open the dark matter portal, but cannot stabilise it enough to travel.

In 2052, Claudia (now the old woman we will meet in Seasons 1 and 2) tells Stranger/Jonas what he must do in the past and to speak to Tannhaus about completing the device.
She tells her that all the suffering that Noah causes will come to an end. It is at this point that Jonas formulates his plan to go back and change things in the past, to break the cycle (a plan we see him enact throughout Season 1 that ends in failure). She hands her a newspaper clipping. He tells her that things have no origin, existing without ever being created. She mentions it might sound absurd, but she had dreamt about that very moment the night before, except the world had ended, leaving everything dark forever. But a different version of Martha from a different reality, one who didn't save Jonas from the apocalypse, kills Jonas while the Martha who saved him watches alongside an older version of Martha as well as Eva. Charlotte drives to the church, where Peter, who is a priest is at with another man. Charlotte looks suspicious as Peter gets a call telling him that Helge was at the police station confessing. The older Claudia is met by Noah at the bunker, who brandishes a shotgun. The nuclear plant is his only legacy; he wants his name and the plant kept secret, at least until his death.
Egon is angry, and seated with a bottle. Jonas asks how she had found him, but Claudia asks for the apparatus which needed dark matter. He accompanies Franziska, Martha, Bartosz Tiedemann, and Kilian Obendorf into the woods in Nov. 2019. She dies from breast cancer in Sept. 2019. Claudia is shocked and does not know what to say. He starts phoning the police to search the caves.
Adam saves Jonas from the 2020 apocalypse in his world and takes Jonas to the alt world where Jonas meets up with alt world Martha before she can save him. Claudia stares at it strangely.
Claudia looks at a newspaper article concerning the death of her father Egon on 26 June 1987 (the next day). Claudia walks back to a dilapidated police station during a down pour outside. Peter walked up to her and told her they would find their loved ones. The noise of the wormhole opening is heard, lights flicker all around town, and dead birds fall out of the sky as Peter and Elisabeth drive to the bunker. She is friends with Regina, Hannah, Torben Wöller, Peter Doppler, and Bernadette Wöller. "'This is time"', he says, '"We connect past and future". He never becomes Michael Kahnwald, meaning he never weds Hannah and Jonas does not exist in this version of the world.
