I assembled it but without the four stock drawers which only open about 2/3rds of the drawer depth.

Drawers do not slide in and out as easily as expected, they seem to come part way out and stick, hoping that they loosen in time. some others have also complained about the draws and I found not one problem installing them or using , remember #19 goes on the right and #18 on the left during assembly . Definitely an inexpesive and very worthwhile addition. it will be for light work and glue-ups.

I'd read many of the reviews before ordering this, so I too was ready to spend a day putting this together, by gluing all the joints with wood glue and putting a generous coat of polyurethane for outdoor use (to protect from sun) on it before completion. This would pull them inwards and hold the shelf securely. It is a nice workbench, but not for heavy planing, etc.
I will be ordering the castors for it so that I can pull it from the wall easily for larger projects. There was a problem completing your request.

I still don't know what kind of Asian wood this is but its hard ! You can edit your question or post anyway. I didn't "pre-drill" anything even though the directions said so , why because the wood screws self tap and just dig right in so I got a tighter fit drilling straight into raw wood . I have bought two of these benches for different purposes. The only gripe I have for the design is that the holes on the table go straight into the top drawers, so you'll need to find a way to cover them if you don't want things dust going into them when they're closed.Nice bench...packaging could be better to protect the bench Excellent value, well made, read the instructions before assembly so you figger out that they actually labeled the front of all the relevant parts :) Instead, I relied on Amazon customer reviews, and boy do I regret it. No models have a back cover.If you're a beginner woodworker, get this bench for the lessons on what NOT to do!
